Active Ingredients

Glucosamine HCl, gelatin by-products (source of Hydrolyzed Collagen), animal liver meal, natural beef flavor, ascorbic acid (source of Vitamin C), cysteine, grape seed meal (source of Bioflavanols), manganese amino acid chelate, zinc amino acid chelate.

Ingredient Rationale: ProMotion

Glucosamine HCl - Supports the body's ability to generate new joint tissue, thereby supporting mobility. Supplementation of this bioavailable ingredient directly increases the production of hyaluronic acid, which is essential to the rehydration of the joint matrix. Glucosamine is also a rate-limiting nutrient for the production of the proteoglycan component of the cartilage matrix.

Hydrolyzed Collagen - Supports cartilage and joint matrix synthesis by supplying the amino acids necessary for collagen synthesis. Hydrolyzed collagen supplies both essential and nonessential amino acids in a highly purified, digestible form. One important amino acid it contains is hydroxyproline. Hydroxyproline makes up a major portion of collagen (approximately 10%) and is not readily available from the diet, so supplementation is important.

Bioflavanol - A potent free radical scavenger with vitamin C sparing properties. May also help support the replacement of broken collagen bundles, helping to restore flexibility to connective tissue.

Cysteine - Antioxidant that increases the body's endogenous supply of glutathione. Cysteine is a sulfur-containing molecule, which can donate its sulfur groups to collagen for proper cross-linking and to proteoglycans to help them maintain their proper structure and function.

Vitamin C - Another important antioxidant necessary for collagen synthesis, it helps maintain normal connective tissue. Vitamin C will also stimulate the production of hydroxyproline, another necessary component of collagen.

Manganese - A significant trace mineral that can act alone as an antioxidant in the blood stream and is also a cofactor of the endogenous superoxide dismutase antioxidant system. Superoxide dismutase is important within the joint matrix to prevent oxidative damage in the joint. Manganese is also required by the body to maintain the strength of tendons, ligaments and bones.

Zinc - An important trace mineral that is an antioxidant on its ownand is important as a coenzyme for metabolism. Zinc promotes healthy skin and supports the immune system. Supplementation is important, as zinc has been greatly depleted in the agricultural soils over the years.

6. Overdose Recommendations

  • Not necessary to induce vomiting.
  • Watch for side-effects, diarrhea and vomiting are possible. If these effects do occur, they should not last more than 24 hours.
  • Stop usage for about a week.

7. Proanthozone, ProHepatic, ProAnimal, ProtectaCell, ProMotion & Prosamine

  • Induce vomiting if overdose has occurred within 12 hours.
  • After 12 hours, not necessary to induce vomiting.
  • Watch closely for next 24 hours for side effects; excessive drowsiness, tachycardia and hypertension are possible.
  • Stop usage for about a week.

8. ProQuiet

  • Induce vomiting, ideally within an hour of ingestion
  • Watch for side effects, including continued vomiting, ataxia, hypersalivation, tremors, seizures, and weakness. If these side effects are present, please call your veterinarian or local veterinary emergency clinic.
  • Stop usage for one week

Induce vomiting by orally administering equal parts water and hydrogen peroxide. Use 1 teaspoon peroxide plus 1 tsp water for every 5 lbs of the pet's body weight, not exceeding 9 teaspoons (or 3 Tablespoons).

9. ProNeurozone, Proanthozone Derm
In about 2% of dogs, gastrointestinal distress has been associated with glucosamine supplementation. Prosamine and ProMotion contain glucosamine. In these dogs, Proanthozone is a good alternative.
There have been reports of hyperactivity associated with ProNeurozone use, which is a rare but documented effect of choline supplementation in some pets.

10. Are there any possible side effects associated with AHO products?
There are positive reports of use in a Lion-tailed Macaque and other birds, a dolphin, a giraffe, calves, rabbits, and pot-bellied pigs.

11. Are AHO products helpful for animals other than cats, dogs and horses?
The liver flavoring is from pork and the beef, bacon and beef and cheese flavors are vegetable based. The tuna flavoring is from fish.

12. What are the sources of your flavoring?
There are no known contraindications for using Proanthozone or ProMotion and Rimadyl (or another NSAID) together.

13. Are there any contraindications for use of Rimadyl with Proanthozone or ProMotion?
Reports of renal failure in animals related to grape or raisin ingestion are not in any way connected to grape seed extract. In fact, negative reactions in dogs have occurred from ingestion of seedless grapes. Numerous studies have proven grape seed extract to be safe for animals and it is a GRAS (generally recognized as safe) ingredient for animal feed/supplements.

14. Is it true that grapes are toxic to dogs?
We employ a national independent laboratory to perform post-production analyses on our products. With this extra quality control measure, we can ensure label claims and guarantee safety.
